Very useful!
A breakthrough.
Put the Freud and Jung books on hold! If you're interested in psychology, dreams, and dreaming, this is the book to read.
Excellent. Has developed our understanding and makes so much sense.
Joe Griffin's ideas and discoveries are enlightening and can prove life changing. Joe's clear thinking shines through.
A massive and extremely important piece of research
An extraordinary book with explanations for dreaming that make absolute sense and then it all seems simple and obvious. What a brilliant piece of work. Not only is it easy to make sense of but it's very readable.
This ground-breaking book gives us the first plausible answers to the eternal question of why we dream. Entertaining and highly readable, it deserves to reach a much wider audience.
Profound and accessible. A very important book.
The most workable explanation re-dreaming available.
Great stuff.
Interesting, new ideas that make sense.
Really superb book about an extraordinary investigation that unravels 'Why we dream'. Very interesting, and useful, for everyone including the average everyday reader, people in psychological distress, therapists and academic researchers.
Absolutely remarkable!
Joe Griffin's work deserves to be far better known – but sadly as history shows us important new ideas often take time to catch on. The theory he puts forward in this book (which is totally compatible with the latest scientific evidence about sleep and dreaming), was the result of 12 years research into why we dream. It succinctly explains the origin, function and meaning of dreams in a way which makes both total evolutionary and common sense. And his theory has already proved itself practically – it has dramatically improved our understanding of the causes of depression and its successful treatment (as well as leading to a better understanding of what psychosis is and the wider importance of the REM state generally). Literally thousands of people have been helped to recover their quality of life as a result of Joe Griffin's dream research and the insights detailed in this book. It is a fascinating and illuminating read from start to finish.
Joe Griffin is an amazing guy who has always given me so many tools of life and choices with his workshops, books and CD's. I wouldn't live my life without his knowledge, that make sense to anyone, and a man who can keep you interested in a classroom for hours! Human Givens will always get my vote as it changes so many peoples lives for the better!
The root of what it is to be human.
Refreshing. Great book.
Essential knowledge for deepening our experience of ourselves and our dreams.
This theory makes so much sense, helping to explain to patients and clients how there can be a link between types of sleep and how too much dreaming can link to depression, and therefore help clients to overcome so many issues. An invaluable link to effective therapy.
One of humanities greatest mysteries neatly and logically solved by this insightful piece of work...that deserves an award surely?
A must read for anyone interested in what happens to us each nice and how the REM state (a phenomenon far more important than most people realise) is connected to depression, psychosis and hypnosis.
