Reviews

‘Haynes's powerful account of domestic violence is disquieting, yet unsensationalist. This is a gripping book on a topic which can never be highlighted enough.' Guardian ‘A very impressive first novel. This is a fantastic personal read with plenty for a reading group to discuss.’ Newbooks Magazine ‘Within ten minutes I couldn't put it down. There's real dramatic tension in this book and when I got to the end the first thing that I did was to turn back to the beginning again.’ The Bookbag ‘A tense and thought-provoking début novel with dark moments. This novel by a police intelligence analyst is certainly well worth the read.’ Shotsmag ‘A compulsive thriller with sufficient twists and plot turns to keep the most action-avaricious of readers satisfied.’ Bookgroup.info Price £ 7.99 Binding: Paperback Publication date 14/02/2011

One of the best books I have read in ages. Tense and well crafted.
Absolutely brilliant novel, couldn't put it down until I finished it at 4am in the morning. Well done Elizabeth for an amazing first novel.
Fantastic book, can't wait to read the next one.
I read this amazing book while on holiday in the UK from Australia. It was a rivetting read and I could not put the book down. I will definately recommend this book to my friends here. I look forward to more books written by this author.
This is an absolutely stunning book which had me gripped from the moment I opened it. I've recommended it everyone I've spoken to! It left me wanting to read more of Elizabeth's work! Fantastically Brilliant.
A gripping novel. I was sucked in and couldn't stop reading.
I confess I'm not usually a reader of fiction but this fantastic book was recommended to me and had me turning pages in suspense. Elizabeth Haynes deserves to do very well with this debut novel. A gripping read!
Loved this book. A real page turner with a scary edge. Very well written. I shall be reading more of Elizabeth's books,
I read this just because we share a surname, but it turned out to be one on the best books I'd read for a long time.
Beautifully crafted thriller. Fabulous.
I love this book, such a page turner. Full of terrible suspense. A great debut novel and one I have recommended to many friends, who have all loved it.
A compelling read that kept me awake at nights
I bought this book on a friend's recommendation and spent 2 days in Elizabeth Haynes world, my house went uncleaned and my hair looked like I'd been dragged through a hedge backwards. I couldn't put the book down until I had finished and, as an avid reader, I can say this is the best book I have read this year.
Couldn't put it down!
A fantastic book!
This is a wonderful book that deserves all the praise it has received. Hope you win, Elizabeth!
