Synopsis

Granny just loves to help – a little bit of magic always speeds things along – and she’s happy to whizz out her ‘helping kit’ at the drop of a pointy hat. However, sometimes all her granddaughter wants is to do things under her own steam, and to spend some quality time – well, normal(ish) time – with her beloved granny. But is her birthday party the right time to choose to turn down the magic?

Author's Biography

Tracey was born in South Wales and now lives in a hidden valley in Gloucestershire with her husband, two children and an ever-increasing menagerie of cute-but-naughty pets. lives in Bristol with his wife, three daughters, two cats and a small dog. He is also co-creator of the Berger & Wyse food cartoon in the Guardian magazine.

Reviews

“This is a delightfully warm and witty book, combining every child’s desire for conformity with the extra little thrill of having a granny who knows exactly when magic can be useful. Corderoy’s lively rhyme is mirrored by Berger’s wonderfully expressive illustrations.” Daily Mail
